Care & Cleaning
When furniture is delivered, it is very important to immediately check for freight damage. If furniture is signed for clear, freight carriers will only pay 1/3 of the damage claim for concealed damage. If concealed damage is not reported within 15 days of delivery, they will pay nothing.
Care for the durable catalyzed lacquer wood finish on Tupelo products as you would any fine furniture.
Use "Murphy's Oil Soap" or an equivalent to wash finished wood as needed. Mix and use according to package directions. Buff dry with a soft cloth.
Use "Guardsman" or "Old English" or other non-silicone polishes to shine and protect finished wood as needed/ Use according to package directions. Polish and buff with a soft cloth.
"Pledge" or other silicone polishes are fine to use, but do not use if you ever plan to refinish the wood. The silicone penetrates into the wood and will interfere with future refinishing.
Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or abrasives or let wood stay wet for an extended amount of time, as these may damage the finish.
Upholstery material care instructions will vary significantly depending on fabrics chosen. This information is available on the back of the fabric swatch cards or from the manufacturer. If you need help obtaining these instructions, please contact Tupelo Manufacturing.
Never move furniture while someone is sitting in it. This is unsafe for the person seated and may damage the furniture.
