All Tupelo chairs are fire rated to meet or exceed California 117 standards. Most are also available to meet California 133 requirements.
How are your chair frames constructed?
Chair frames are made in our factory of kiln dried American oak. Frame joints are double pinned and glued with grooved hardwood dowels. They have corner block & mechanical fastener reinforcement where appropriate.
What types of fabric are available?
We offer a wide selection of high quality contract fabrics, vinyl, Cryptons, and woven jacquard cryptons. We are also happy to work with customer supplied materials.
How are your frames finished?
The standard wood finish process uses a durable multi-step method. The first application is color-matched stain/toner. Second and third applications are high solid nitrocellulose based lacquer sealer. After sealer is dry, the sealer coats are scuff sanded. Final application is high solids catalyzed lacquer.
What types of finish colors are available?
We offer seven standard wood finish colors. We can also coordinate finishes to case goods or tables of other manufacturers. There is usually no up charge for this. A wood or laminate sample is required.
What industries do you supply?
Our sales are divided among suppliers to colleges and the military, the hospitality industry, and the health care industry. These suppliers comprise over 95% of our market. Most of the balance is to restaurant and office suppliers.
Can I replace seats and backs if needed?
Most seats and backs are removable for ease of replacement if damaged. Replacement cushions are available for purchase.
Can I get casters on chairs with Queen Anne legs?
No, because of the design of the leg there is not enough material to cut to properly fit a caster.
What is the up-charge for casters?
Our current up-charge for casters is $12 for front only, $24 for all four legs.
What kind of casters do you use?
We use a twin wheel hooded black plastic caster with stems.
What lead time can be expected?
A 4 to 6 week lead time is normal, this may change depending on fabric availability.
